Solution Overview – Veritas Perform

Veritas Perform offers a full management system capability to capture and transform data into useful KPI information whether that data is housed in line of business systems or even when it is represented in Excel spreadsheets as unstructured data. And where a department has not got a system to capture KPI data Veritas Perform even offers you the opportunity to publish customisable RIA (Rich Internet Application) forms for those departments to use and only for them to use.

All organisations are plagued by data islands / silos and it is the challenge of accessing and harnessing those pockets of data systematically and in a form that can be replicated month in month out that has proved to be the main stumbling block to the successful implementation of performance management systems. And even where organisations have successfully managed to deal with the issues associated with data islands solutions have proved to be labour intensive and susceptible to error.

Veritas Perform ensures that those problems are a thing of the past with its powerful set of management processes it is now possible to process and transform unstructured data into structured information using a set of sophisticated transformation rules. It does not matter whether that data is held in spreadsheets or word documents the Balanced Scorecard Process Manager will access and then reliably transform data into information.

Further, the in-built assurance processes ensure that you can have full confidence that the transformed data lies within acceptable tolerance levels. Should the system find that tolerance levels are breached alerts and emails can be raised.

In addition to these data assurance processes there are time management controls that you can set that will raise alerts if one of your feeder systems has not made itself available to Veritas Perform.

Veritas Perform also contain a sophisticated scheduling capability that will allow it to automatically trawl your data sources, transform the data and assimilate it into Veritas Perform.

Veritas Perform also contains a structure module that allows you to define the metrics / KPIs you want to record and present together with the nodes of your organisation structure that you want to associate them with. Together with the tolerance levels, timeliness / completion details and finally the source of the information. So if you want to reorganise your structure or add new KPIs / metrics then the structure module is the place to do it. Finally, it is here within the Structure Module where you decide who has access to the system. And because the system is LDAP / ADS compliant each user can access the system from their network login.

There will be an optional capability in early Q4 2011 to utilise a complete Business Process Automation engine that will enable you to assemble a set of formal approval / authorisation processes for the production of the Balanced Scorecard.

Veritas Perform makes it’s information available to Veritas Vision:

Excel Spreadsheet containing unstructured data can be automatically entered

Transformation tool – top pane contains untransformed data, bottom pane contains transformed information. Transformation can be run in real-time or in batch according to a predefined schedule. Data can also be taken directly from Line of Business systems such as PAS / EPR using packages of SQL
